Age and Driving Experience Requirements for Car Rental in Georgia

To rent a car in Georgia, most car rental companies require drivers to be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of 1 year of driving experience. This is mainly due to insurance company requirements, as insurance policies often include restrictions related to the driver’s age and driving history.

Why do these restrictions exist? The answer is simple: insurance companies consider young and inexperienced drivers to be a higher-risk category. That is why many car rental companies follow insurance requirements when approving rentals.
